This is an online only (virtual) training course that discusses the concerns, pros and cons of secondary weapons. It also reviews considerations for off-duty weapons.
The course includes a PowerPoint slide show that corresponds to the training video. The total viewing time for the video is approximately 15 minutes. For viewer’s reference there is also a downloadable PDF version of the PowerPoint presentation, perfect for use in taking notes. A course syllabus and extra reading resources are also included in the training materials.

Course Objectives:
- Upon completion, the student officer will be able to describe and discuss the mechanical function concerns related to secondary or off-duty weapons
- Upon completion, the student officer will be able to describe and discuss the duty weapon compatibility concerns related to secondary or off-duty weapons
- Upon completion, the student officer will be able to describe and discuss the concerns of concealability with secondary or off-duty weapons.
- Upon completion, the student officer will be able to describe and discuss the security concerns related to secondary or off-duty weapons.
